DAUGHTER is going to be part of THE RIVER FLEET on the 27th, which is very cool because she’s excellent.
here’s a video of her playing her song RUN, courtesy of the communion gang.
she’s also just put out her debut EP through her bandcamp, so get on that before the show.
it’s a total priviledge to have MAUN DELAGO on THE RIVER FLEET bill.
He’s probably the most acclaimed Hang player in the world, with literally millions of youtube hits and an already extensive discography. He’s played and recorded both Hang and percussion with some of the biggest names in music across Europe, as well as in North America, South America and Asia. Here he is in 1987 playing for his parents. He’s played bigger shows since.
The Hang itself is a relatively new instrument, having only been around for about the last decade. It looks a bit like a UFO, and sounds totally alien. Hypnotic and disorienting, it’s a genuinely beautiful thing.
Greg and I played with him last week at the Brunel museum, which was pretty cool. He invited us to play some songs there, where he’s artist in residence, and joined us for a few things at the end. If you want to hear more from him have a look at his website (www.manudelago.com).
We’re super excited to be hosting THE RIVER FLEET at Old St Pancras Church on Wednesday 27th April.
The night will feature live sets from us, internationally acclaimed hang player Manu Delago, and the very wonderful Daughter. In between there will be poetry from Hammer and Tongues, and Rockfeedback DJs will be on hand to fill the gaps. I’ll be writing more about all of the acts on this blog over the next few days, so keep checking.
The capacity for the show is extremely limited and there will only be 100 spaces available. an amazing chapel on one of the oldest religious sites in London.
There will be no advance tickets but you are able to reserve an entrance space for £5 by signing up by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Just put THE RIVER FLEET in the subject field and the names of the people you want on the reserve list.
Each person on the reserve list will also be sent an exclusive new Monument Valley track for free before the show.
free download from the communion website here. all you need to do is enter your email address. you can also buy the physical version for 3 pounds, that’ll be set up later today..
